Do you need to conduct workplace drug testing for benzodiazepines and oxycodone? Here’s exciting news, from our exclusive partner, Dräger.
When it comes to workplace drug testing, reliability, accuracy and speed are essential – especially for organisations with strict safety protocols or those operating in high-risk industries. That’s why Integrity Sampling, in association with Dräger, is proud to introduce the latest innovation. The new DrugCheck 3000 7-panel device, now available to Australian workplaces.
Like its well-known predecessors – including the 5-panel, 6-panel BZO and 6-panel OXY versions – the new 7-panel DrugCheck 3000 provides fast and reliable detection of recent drug use using a compact, saliva-based testing kit. The key difference? It now allows you to test for both benzodiazepines and oxycodone in the same device – a first for the DrugCheck 3000 line.
This is excellent news for Integrity Sampling clients who require both drugs to be included in their workplace drug and alcohol program. Previously, you had to choose between testing for one or the other. Now, you can test for both – plus five other drug classes – with the same efficient device.
More Information on the New DrugCheck 3000 7-Panel
The Dräger DrugCheck 3000 7-panel offers a range of features that make it ideal for on-site drug testing in the workplace:
- The 7-panel device has been independently verified to comply with AS/NZS 4760:2019, the Australian and New Zealand standard for procedures and devices used in oral fluid drug testing. The device has also been highly rated in global evaluations. This includes testing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the United States and locally, the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine.
- In just 4 minutes, negative results are available at room temperature, making it one of the fastest drug testing options on the market. This not only improves efficiency but reduces downtime and increases productivity – vital benefits for busy workplaces.
- The DrugCheck 3000 is a saliva-based test kit, making it far less invasive than urine tests. It’s compact, hygienic and doesn’t require electricity, meaning it can be used virtually anywhere – from remote work sites to busy warehouses.
- The 7-panel device, as with other DrugCheck 3000 kits, works seamlessly with the Dräger app, enabling easy reading of test results, efficient test line evaluation and secure record keeping. This simplifies compliance and documentation.
- Despite its cutting-edge capabilities, the new 7-panel is priced competitively, delivering value without compromising on quality.
How Does the Dräger DrugCheck 3000 7-Panel Work?
The 7-panel device comprises two components:
- A hygienic saliva collector that absorbs the oral fluid sample.
- A test cassette, which contains buffer liquid and a result window with test strips.
Here’s how to use it:
- Swab the mouth with the collector until the colour indicator disappears (indicating enough saliva has been collected).
- Insert and shake the swab with the test cassette to begin the incubation process.
- Wait a few minutes for results to appear in the cassette’s result window.
In around 4 minutes, the results are ready to be read. A line appears next to each of the seven substances if the result is negative – meaning no detectable presence of that drug in the saliva sample. If no line appears for a drug class, the result is a non-negative and confirmation testing is then completed.
The 7 drug classes the new device screens for are:
- Cocaine
- Opiates
- Cannabis
- Amphetamines
- Methamphetamines
- Oxycodone
- Benzodiazepines
This panel provides comprehensive coverage of commonly used and misused drugs in Australian communities and workplaces.
