Our mobile drug testing services have been made possible, in part, to technology.
In years past, sampling was often done on-site, but then the samples were taken to a laboratory for off-site for analysis. These were the days of urine drug testing and meant that test results were known days or weeks later, not straight away. This in turn meant that someone who under the influence of drugs or alcohol remained on the job, where they were a potential risk to themselves and others.
These days, using oral and saliva testing methods, results can be provided in minutes and anyone who is unsafe to be on the job can be removed to a safe place.
For alcohol testing, Integrity Sampling uses modern portable units similar to those used by the Victorian Police and other police forces for roadside mobile alcohol testing. These units provide a blood alcohol concentration or BAC indication immediately. An employee who records a positive result can be removed to safety and further testing can be carried out to confirm the result.
For drug testing, Integrity Sampling also uses modern units that make the process extremely portable. The saliva testing process involves a person rubbing a collection device around the inside of their mouth for a short period of time in order to provide a saliva sample. The collection device is then inserted into the Drager Drug Test 5000, a portable drug testing unit that has been shown to be extremely accurate… And quick. Results are provided in a matter of minutes are fully auditable and printable. Similar to alcohol testing, if an employee provides a positive result a second sample will be taken. This sample is analysed at a NATA laboratory to determine the drug and the level of the drug in the employee’s system.
