Drager units for WA Police

Published

The Western Australian newspaper has reported that WA Police are embarking on a new era of drug-driving detection, thanks in part to new Drager Drug Test 5000 units.

The Drager Drug Test 5000 is the same unit that Integrity Sampling uses for its drug testing. It’s another tick of approval for the Drager units, which were recently announced as the roadside drug testing unit of choice for the Queensland Police Service.

According to the Western Australian, the Drager Drug Test 5000 units will replace testing machines that have been used since WA Police implemented drug-driving tests in 2007. Twenty of the Drager units will be used, quadrupling the number of testing units available to the Police.

In addition to the Drager units, the WA Police will also update mouth swab kits. Both initiatives are expected to reduce result times from 5 – 8 minutes to 3 – 5 minutes.
